Group Therapy in Old Saybrook, CT

Support, connection, and shared growth in a

therapist-led setting.

Clear Water Counseling offers group therapy in Old Saybrook, CT for clients who may benefit from connection, guided conversation, and support from others navigating similar experiences.

What is group therapy?

Group therapy brings together a small number of people around a shared topic, concern, or life stage. Each group is led by a trained clinician who helps guide the conversation, create safety, and support meaningful reflection and growth.

Groups may focus on emotional support, skill-building, relationships, life transitions, parenting, recovery, anxiety, stress, or other topics where connection and shared experience can be helpful.

The Value of Shared Support

Group therapy offers something different from individual therapy. While individual therapy gives you one-on-one space to focus on your own story, group therapy allows you to connect with others who may understand parts of what you are going through.

In a supportive, therapist-led group, shared experience can help reduce isolation, build insight, and create space to practice new skills. Many clients find comfort in realizing they are not the only one feeling what they feel.

Group therapy can help you:

  • Feel less alone in what you are experiencing

  • Build connection in a supportive setting

  • Gain perspective from shared experiences

  • Practice communication, coping, or relationship skills

  • Receive support that is structured, guided, and therapist-led
